I've noticed on a few of my top articles, and other peoples, anon users are posting adverts to their sites! How annoying! Not just one either... a few of them. Is there any way I can stop this? Or do I just need to stop anon users being able to post?

Think you answered your own question Sal...there is a way you can stop them posting on your stuff right? They are annoying though..like the telephone salesmen of the internet.

thanks for the comment on my blog btw

sal,

i think it's going for the 'top 10'. i clicked one comment and blacklisted the user. i has different user names, but i seem to have stopped it so maybe it's registered and just uses a different name or something ?. anyway, i'll repeat my comment to it that you liked so much:

"you bloody blog spamming bot-faced blighty blimey bollocks buggery bastard !"

you and i wrote blogs about this at the same time, sal ! ... great minds think alike huh ?

When(and notice I didn't say IF) it happens to me.... they are getting DELETED! hate, Hate, HATE these spammers....

I think blacklisting a user may actually work the same way that banning does... i.e. it filters not just on username but on primary IP address. Have to get T-Man, Karmagirl, or Brad to confirm/deny that, though. In fact I HOPE that the IP address behind this will be banned very shortly.
And I certainly wouldn't complain if the comments got deleted...

Me too!.. SO annoying!

So does that mean you can blacklist an anon user and it's their ip that gets blacklisted? SO if they try and comment again it won't let them?
