"Conversation should be pleasant without scurrility, witty without affectation, free without indecency, learned without conceitedness, novel without falsehood."

Ken Bigley joined his US counterparts. His family recieved news of his death today. They were sent a video showing him pleading for his life, then one of the kidnappers took a knife from his pocket and cut off Mr Bigley's head, as three militants held him down. They blamed Tony Blair for not meeting their demands.

It's very sad, my thoughts are with the families of all three men.

Another atrocity commited by these homocidal terrorists. It truly saddens me to think that their brother is blaming Blair when the blood on the hands belongs to the terrorists.

I read about this on the Guardian right before I read this post -- Britain's government did everything to try and free Bigley, including getting him an Irish passport in hopes that he wouldn't be murdered as an Irishman...this is all so senseless...

Yep, it's ALL BUSH'S FAULT.

Don't blame the murdering savages who lopped off this man's head. Just BLAME BUSH. It's much easier to do that!

Maxwellian condolences are extended to the noble Bigley family.

I propose a pogrom of all Iraqis, to quell these vile beasts.

This is such a desperately sad situation. I can't fathom what the family has, and will continue to go through as a result. They seem so normal - like every other family out there. I'm lost for words.

Me too. I guess he is lashing out at who is closest. In his position I'm sure I would be ready to blame anyone.

...I tripped up this morning, can I blame Bush for that too?

Thankyou Peter .

It sure is sweety. I guess all we can do is respect their privacy and leave them to grieve.
