Yet more blood is spilt...

Things seem to hit home alot more when they are exactly that, close to home. Which is a shame. Because it shouldn't, this war has killed alot of people, but it never quite touches you till you see people crying, and hurting, and actually seeing the lives these statistics touch, hearing the words of Ken Bigley's family, the British hostage held by Iraqi kidnappers was nothing less than heartbreaking. Last night the kidnappers declared that unless their demands were met, there is a chance in the next twenty four hours Ken Bigley could be killed. Fears of his family are growing as one of his two American colleagues was beheaded. A sickening video of Eugene Armstrongs murder was posted on a website. Why? Why do people need to see this. It's sickening. People may say this is the real world, deal with it. Forget that. How can people doing this live with themselves.

A hooded militant said of the new deadline: "The fate of the infidel was cutting off the head. You have a 24-hour opportunity. Abide by our demand in full and release all the Muslim women, otherwise the head of the other will follow this one."

The terrorist threatened to kill Mr Bigley and fellow hostage Jack Hensley unless women prisoners are released from Iraqi jails. Now I know terrible awful things have happened in this war. People of different nationalities have being killed. Somehow it never feels real though, then you get this big kick in the teeth. You see someone crying for their husband, father, son, and boy does it kick you in the teeth. Life has it's own price. His family have to watch this being played out on the news. The life of someone they care about in the hands of sick individuals, in the hands of a government, that realises to win the war, there has to be a sacrifice of human life. A sacrfice, that in my opinion is to high. When you watch the television it is for the most part, a form of entertainment, and escapism for some. For this mans family it is a lifeline. The only hope they have of keeping track of the man they love. The only thing that is keeping them sane at this time.

My thoughts tonight are with Ken Bigley, Jack Hensley, Eugene Armstrong and their families. My thoughts stretch so much further I can't even begin to explain. For all the innocents this war has touched, and for those it still is going to touch. It's a sad world we live in, and I can only hope that it will get better, one day. Unfortunately there will be alot more blood shed before we reach that day. A price to pay for a peaceful world?

Your compassion for these people (and they are definitely people, not statistics) is beautiful and heart-warming. I wish there were more people like us!
How can people doing this live with themselves - ... - You have a 24-hour opportunity

Things like this just churn my stomach. Opportunity? Sounds more like a business deal that the fate of a human being.

Thanks for the comment Wayne, and yes it would be nice if people thought more like that. This whole thing has knocked me sick.

In all reality, these horrific images and demonicization of human beings should inspire the rest of the world to get rid of the individuals capable of such crimes.

It should yes, but it's not that simple is it. To get rid of them I mean, and images like this just remind people of how much life sacrifice has to be made, to rid the world of these people.

It shows how we must be vigilliant against these people to not allow them to suceed in their goals of Global Terrorism. They kidnapped people from their own homes, whom were kind and compassionate to their neighboors. They helpped their neighboors when there were power outages with their own generators. They have been there before the war in Iraq, they were trying to reconstruct the country of the very people who have kidnapped them. These kidnappers want US to free two women who were involved in Chemical Manufacturing of Anthrax. These are not just a woman off the street but scientists desigining biological weapons.
