About love (I think!)

Well it's smack bang in the middle of Easter weekend, I can happily say I'll be glad when it's all over, it didn't get off to the best start, which I won't bore you with and my Mum has decided she needs to try twice as hard to make it a spectacular event
. I'm trying my best to keep quiet and let them all get on with it but they all so insane it's difficult, Maddy Mae is the most sane and she's only four months old, so that says it all really. Tomorrow will be the biggie, whole family for a meal, so that will be, insane sis who will prob spend the whole time on the phone as it seems she needs it surgically removed, then there's my grandparents, who call me everyones name accept my own, and my pops is slightly deaf and very blunt, so he spends most of the time shouting insults at people, which does bring an element of entertainment to the otherwise dull event, then there's my aunties, who consider anything like this some kind of fashion parade, I only hope Maddy takes the opportunity to puke all over them! My cousins, don't even get me started on them.....nice people as long as they don't speak
, Then there will be my parents tryin their best to make the dinner a success, and me and my other sister laughing at the zoo, ahhh what fun it will be....maybe not
! I could bore you with what I've done for the last few days but I doubt you're reading this for a cure for insomnia so I shall spare you, and plus I'd probably bore myself to death, lets just say it consisted of some really crappy stuff and baby sick, enough said I think
!
Instead I'm going to have a small rant, it is small, though once I get started I could probably go on for a while but I'll try to keep to the point. I watched the film, 'When a man loves a woman' the other day. For those of you who haven't seen it, where the hell you been?? Hehe, just kidding! It's about a woman who's married with two kids, and she's madly in love with her fella, it's all very nice and gives you that warm fuzzy feeling (yuck), I do have to admit I cried, hmm, anyway, yeah they all happy and stuff and then this woman develops a drinking problem and it shows them get through it, and basically the love of a good man will get you through anything, hmm. There's my issue, and I realise it shouldn't be an issue, and It didn't really start from watching this film, I'll share with you where it started in a second, but I don't understand why everywhere you look you're encouraged to be in a relationship. Don't get me wrong it's lovely to be in a relationship, it's the best feeling in the world to be in love and I'm all for that. However. I'm not all for people being in relationships for the sake of it, because the media says it's the thing to do, you can be happy on your own, a woman doesn't need a love of a man to her through these things, though obviously it would help, just as men don't need women to get them through things, we are all perfectly capable of coping alone. I don't blame the film really, I liked it, was a nice film, the thing that got me started on this was a programme i watched during the week. There's a programme called fit club or something along them lines, all these people go to this health farm and try to get fit, just another money maker in reality tv. Anyway there's this one girl, she's only young, nineteen or something and she isn't very mature for her age, childlike really. She's a big girl though, weights about 20 stone, and shes there to lose weight, which is good for her. Her main reason for wanting to lose weight is she wants to be able to ride a horse again, and she needs to lose weight to do that, which I think is a good a reason as any, if it's something she enjoys to do, it gives her insentive to do it. One of the workers at the health farm was talking to her though, about her reasons for been there, and they basically told her that wanting to ride a horse again wasn't a good enough reason, it was to childish, she needed to concentrate on something more adult like finding herself a boyfriend! Yeah what a great reason, don't do it for youself, and the reasons YOU want to do it for, change yourself so some bloke will fall in love with you! I'm sure that losing weight will help her find a bloke, and in the long run it will make her happy, more confident, more capable of doing things, but I don't think that should be her reason for doing it, it shouldn't be put in her head that someone will only love her when she changes, surely it's about loving herself first and making herself happy first, well that's what got me started on this rant, just annoys me that there's so much pressure on people set by the media and other people to live your life a certain way, grrr!
Okay, I'm done, on a last note, me and my 'friend' sorted things out, I knew we would, he's been really good to me last few days, I wouldn't of got through them without him, such a sweety! I tend to have only a few friends, but the ones I have really are brilliant, it's quality not quantity! Anyway I'm done for today, bye bye folks xxxx

Hello Sally my dear, I actually read your whole article and found it be rather good. A woman doesn't need a man to be happy but they do need a man to be keep them on the straight and narrow, single women are at risk from sexual predators and of also developing criminal intent, many single women are shop lifters for example.

Thanks Petey! I have to say I think you have a point, I should think many single women are shop lifters as they don't have a good man to pay for everything. Surely though women who are in relationships are also more than capable of developing criminal intent, for example you're more like to be killed by someone you know, like a partner than someone you don't. Hope this isn't a touchy subject after what happened to your wife.
